The Wordpress plugin allows you to set a timestamp in the Ethereum blockchain

For the popular content management system (CMS) WordPress, a new plugin has appeared that allows you to set a timestamp in the Ethereum blockchain for published articles and notes.

The plugin, developed by the Dutch startup WordProof, should provide a new degree of authorship protection and increase transparency when creating content. It will allow you to protect intellectual property, as well as track the path and change of content. At the same time, installing the plugin does not require any special knowledge about the distributed registry technology.

According to the startup’s website, the timestamp is a “unique and universal fingerprint,” also known as a hash, for each article, page, and other content. If the content changes in any way, the hash will also change, so the authors will be able to track the changes. Each print contains the date and time the post was published, so users can prove that they published the content at a certain time.Note that according to W3Techs, the WordPress system is installed on 39% of all websites and occupies a share of 63% in the CMS market. Earlier, the startup WordProof received a grant of 1 million euros from the European Commission for winning the “Blockchain for Public Benefit” program. The startup beat 175 other teams from Europe.
